Mr. Pruthushaan Premkumar

My name is Pruthushaan Premakumar. I’m 23 years old and I’m a university student alongside following my passion for classical and contemporary music. I started learning Carnatic Music at the age of 7. I completed my Diploma at the age of 13 but I have not stopped learning Carnatic music to this day. I still learn from various teachers around the UK and it makes me happy that I’m constantly learning new things from many people. As well as learning Carnatic Music, I also took up an interest in singing contemporary music as well I.e film songs. Over the last few years I’ve grown as a performer and performed in many music events around the UK and would like to say I have a really good name for myself in the Tamil community. I have also performed in quite a few music competitions and have won some titles such as “Priyaraagangal 2019”, “Gaanakuyil 2019”, “TAB Super Singer 2018”. I’ve participated in both radio and TV interviews with IBC Tamil Radio. 

I would like to say that I have not put my skills to waste and I am using them to help other kids as well. I joined esteemed teacher Rathika aunty and I work with her teaching both adults and children in Carnatic music. I’m also a diploma holder in Carnatic Keyboard and I teach in this field as well.
