About Us

Nrithya Sangeetha Academy (NSA) started out as a small group in 2004. It was formed by Smt. Rathika Rajaloganathan, whose aim was to awaken a cultural dream in Milton Keynes. It began with small classes in dance and music which helped young children keep in touch with their cultural heritage. The academy has now grown into a popular academy with nearly 200 students.

The teaching staff comprises of very talented individuals, who are also accomplished teachers. They have galvanized the students into a talented unit which has performed on many occasions in the past, winning the appreciation of the viewers.

NSA has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2004. Many of our students have completed their Diploma in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic vocal. Students have also performed Bharathanatya and Vocal recitals at a variety of events, including UK based television shows, temple festivals, local theatre, and cultural events. We at NSA are proud to say that we have been to India for performances, one of which was at the prestigious hall “Music Academy'' followed by a television interview, while the other one was in Coimbatore.

Recently, twenty students accompanied by two teachers, successfully produced the concept of Dhasavatharam at ‘Natyanjali 2020’ in February 2020 at one of the prestigious events of Chidambaram, in South India.

With Rathika’s past experience with the media and hosting events in India, she is able to conduct classes, organise events and direct shows in a successful and orderly manner.

Message from founder

NSA
2020

Over the past ten years, the NSA developed into a recognised and successful cultural institution and I could not be prouder. The success of NSA would not have been possible without the dedicated teachers who consistently put in a great deal of effort. In addition to this I am given great guidance by my family, in particular my sister smt. Renuka Shriananda (who is also my vocal guru), my son and my mother. Students at NSA are always keen and eager to learn about the art that they are mastering which enables them to cover a vast content of the subject in a short time. I also would like to mention that the growth of NSA is also due to the commitment made by the students and their parents. Hence I treat NSA and everyone who is part of it as family rather than an institution.. I believe that every child has their own talents and abilities, but it is their efforts that take them to great heights. I am confident that NSA will continue to reach greater success due to the relationship, trust and commitment within the institution.

Memories from founder

NSA
2004

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the caring parents, the devoted students and the supporting teachers who are a part of the NSA family. My earlier media experience helped me to communicate, organise and host events. Although it started as a small group, the first group of parents are still members of the NSA family. I personally believe that developing an understanding between a teacher and student should be a priority as this understanding will be the base pillar for the student to build their knowledge upon. The teachers who are a part of NSA also believe in this and this has substantially increased the level of the NSA family. This development would not have been possible without the commitment of the parents and the determination and dedication of the students. The success of the vast amount of programs we have organised are a testament to the allegiance of the students, parents and teachers who are a part of the NSA family. Though we have visited many countries for performances, the milestone  trip was the one to  Chidambaram Natyanjali 2020.
